Last summer, after our 2 week trip to Ireland and England, Michael and I decided we wanted to do more traveling and for a longer period of time in Europe. So we came up with the idea to go to 3 of our favorite countries for as long as our passports would let us. That is 3 months.
We planned our retirement, planned our house sale and planned our trip to Italy, France & Spain, hoping to leave in July, 2014. However, our house didn't sell until mid September. Not part of the plan !
Our goal for Europe is for me to live the life of an artist and for Michael to be the genealogist he's wanted to be. All the while living in some of the beautiful villages throughout Europe spending a lot of time outdoors.
But we hit that glitch of a late house sale so we have decided to go to Europe in the spring...thus, as my niece, Tori, has so aptly said, we will be nomads throughout the states until next spring.
We'll be driving through the states, taking our time, staying at all different types of places (maybe even your place) and of course making time for family (esp. Leah)!
Michael & I are travelers for now. Follow us around through Facebook, emails, cell phones or grab a flight and visit us. Even though we are on the move, we are still right here, ready to answer your call.
We all get one go round. Make the most of yours!

Great! You did it! I love your wallpaper and your two pictures. It will be fun traveling with you! Life is good! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to follow the globetrotters on their fab nomadic life. Enjoy!!!!
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, my husband & I were hoping to meet my daughter in Europe this fall but I'm still waiting for the house to close sooo....we're thinking of the Spring...maybe we can meet up to share a bottle or two! I have a blog as well but I have only posted twice ...I believe you have inspired me girl!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely that would be fabulous! Let's stay in touch. (of course, not staying in touch is "virtually" impossible!)
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting adventure! I can't wait for next installment. We might provide BlueRidge Mt/Shenandoah River segment, if you follow country roads to Harpers Ferry! Rooms available on short notice....
ReplyDeleteFor as long as I have my house, there are two bedrooms reserved for you. Please plan to stay with me when you visit Brevard County! We miss you! <3
ReplyDeletethank you so much!
DeleteLet me see if this works
ReplyDeleteyup it did.
DeletePatty -- please feel free to stay here in New England if you find yourself near the water and the fabulousness that is fall. I'll make you guys an apple crisp & point you in the direction of oceans & artwork. The MFA has a Wyeth exhibit until December & if you've not visited the Peabody Essex Museum here then you are in for a treat.
ReplyDeleteAh you make it all sound so tempting. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, yes I would enjoy being included to receive your posts. Since I cannot fly anywhere, anymore, I would be great to see places that I will never see in person. Have a great trip. regards, Betty-Anne
